Students are growing as Mathematicians! We have completed our second chapter in math and are moving into chapter three. We have begun multiplication and some of the strategies that we can use to solve multiplication problems. Math vocabulary is something that we discuss daily, such as; product, factor and groups. Students are becoming weather experts during our Science unit about Weather and Climate. They track the weather daily and have become experts about different types of clouds, climate zones, tools that meteorologists use, and extreme types of weather. We hope that you enjoy the holiday season with your families. If possible, take time to explore the libraries and museums in our area to supplement your child's learning in school! ClintonTownship Middle School The annual North Hunterdon Consortium debate competition was hosted by CTMS. We had 21 students participate in our enrichment program, and they competed against five other area schools. Great debating, everyone! Mark your calendars for our 3rd annual TREP$ Student Marketplace, to be held at CTMS on Wednesday, April 8 from 6:00-8:00 PM. The CTMS 2020 Relay for Life will be held on Friday, February 28 from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Middle School. This is our 10th anniversary, and it should be a Rockin' Relay! Our community has raised over $350,000 in the fight against cancer, but there is no finish line until we find a cure! Featured bands are Full House (5:30 - 7:30 pm) and Captain Eric & the Shipwrecks (9:00 - midnight). Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults. All proceeds will go to the CTMS Relay for Life. Although the Week of Respect runs from October 7 through October 11, students and faculty at CTMS were busy celebrating "Respect" all month! We kicked off our activities with a School Summit focussing on our first Pillar of Character, "Respect." Students worked together t o p r o d u c e a video, design p o s t e r s , a n d bulletin boards t o c e l e b r a t e w h a t r e s p e c t means to them a n d t h e i r community. S t u d e n t s d e s i g n e d c o l o r f u l b o o k m a r k s w i t h r e s p e c t q u o t e s t h a t were combined with the gently l o v e d o r n e w b o o k s b e i n g collected and donated to the O c t a v i o u s V . C a t t o F a m i l y School. Additionally, CTMS also hosted Michael Fowlin, who presented to all NHV district 8th grade students about respect, diversity, and finding one's own beauty and strength.
