In December, Girl Scout troops often plan meetings to celebrate the holidays and find ways to give back to the community. Some will go caroling, others will wrap gifts and some will see a holiday show or make crafts. The girls enjoy the activities that become a part of their yearly traditions. To learn about becoming a Girl Scout or what's involved with being a Leader, email us at gshnjserviceunit81@gmail.com. We are always looking for new members and parent volunteers and would be glad to answer questions about this rewarding experience! Starting January 6, the North County Branch Library in Clinton will be co-hosting with HillJoy Labs a 3-month long Startup Incubator for Small Businesses. A dedicated space will be set aside Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9-12 in the Adult Services area. The Incubator Program facilitates creative collaboration by providing an environment that allows entrepreneurs to thrive: inspiration from fellow Startups, work space, secure wireless internet, access to desktops, printers, scanners, 3D printing and mentoring. The program will end with "Pitch Night" on Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 pm where each company will pitch their business to friends, family and the public. "Pitch Night" will not only highlight the hard work that was put in, but will help the entrepreneurs hone their presentations for future Accelerator programs, clients and investors. Due to the limited space, a person or group who is interested in being part of the Incubator will be asked to submit a proposal by December 13. Forms are available at the three Hunterdon County Library branches, and on our website: www.hclibrary.us. t H a n K y o u t o F o H c l ' s t R i c K y t R a y s u p p o R t e R s ! The Friends of the Hunterdon County Library (FOHCL) thank all of the local businesses and restaurants in the Hunterdon County community for their support of our recent Tricky Tray Basket Raffle event. This was our fourth annual raffle fundraiser and our most successful yet. The success of our event is a direct result of YOU and your support. The funds raised will be used to provide sponsorship of various library functions and offerings including the Museum Pass Program, movie nights, musical programs, "Maker's Day", youth services and STEM programs. Save the Date for the annual FOHCL Book Sale being held the weekend of April 25 and 26, 2020! More information to follow in March for donation dates!
