1 5 n o v e m b e r 2 0 1 9 When I first became a REALTOR ® , I never imagined how rewarding it would be! Real estate is challenging, and I work for clients during an emotional time, but it is also incredibly rewarding. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I want to say thank you to my clients for putting their trust in me! I also want to share the many reasons I'm thankful I'm in real estate. Real Estate is meaningful. A home is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. It represents security, family and sense of self. Home ownership is the "American Dream," and I get to help people make their dreams come true. I meet people from many walks of life. Everyone needs a home. As an agent, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to help people of all different backgrounds and stages of life. It is a wonderful way to make someone's life happier and fuller. Real estate is full of opportunities to get to know your community. As a REALTOR ® , I have been able to put down deep roots in my community and help make it better, one house at a time. It's flexible. Although I may have to work weekends or take calls at all hours of the day, I can also be at my child's volleyball game or spend the day at a community festival. I can also work from anywhere! It's fun. Whether you're attending a conference, touring an incredible property, hosting an Open House, or handing over the keys to a happy home buyer, real estate is full of fun moments. I wouldn't trade it for anything! My colleagues are amazing! They are some of the hardest working, smartest and most caring people out there. I am proud to work with these amazing people and call them not just colleagues but friends. I love my clients! I'm humbled by the trust that my clients put in me and I am dedicated to exceeding their expectations. I'm so thankful that my clients are more than just clients – they are my lifelong friends. Although my job is in real estate, my business is in building relationships. I am thankful for every one of these relationships. I'm counting my many blessings this Thanksgiving and thankful for this wondrous career, not just today but every day. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! – Cathy Wood w h y I ' m t h a n k F u l I ' m I n r e a l e s t a t e Here's how to get your home to smell like Thanksgiving this holiday season! What you need: apple slices, orange peels, two cinnamon sticks and a tablespoon of cloves. What you do: Fill a pot of water halfway, then drop in the ingredients. Bring it to your stovetop and let the combination simmer on low. In less than 30 minutes, the fragrant scent of the holidays will start to fill your home! (Just be sure you replenish water as needed to keep the aroma going strong.) The Thanksgiving countdown is on! – Cathy Wood As we go through our day, we all feel a variety of emotions, some pleasant and some not so much. How well we understand and react to these emotions can affect how we handle stress and how we feel about ourselves. This understanding and acceptance of our full range of emotions through the ups and downs of our lives is termed "emotional wellness" and it is a skill that can be improved. The first step is to become aware of your emotional state as it is happening by stopping frequently during your day and paying attention to how you're feeling during different situations. Your emotions while driving in traffic may be different than that while sitting with workmates at the lunch table and different again when you're on the phone with a doctor's office. Think about accepting the emotions you're feeling without judging yourself. If you're having good feelings, let yourself feel that and know you deserve to feel well. If you're having bad feelings, let yourself feel them too and know that you have the control to keep them from flaring. We'll have more information on emotional wellness in this Newsletter next month! p a r t n e r s h I p F o r h e a l t h m o n t h l y s t r e s s r e D u c t I o n t I p s
