This popular event, which has sold out in previous years, begins with a social hour including cocktails (cash bar) and passed hors d'oeuvres, followed by a premium seated dinner and entertainment provided by three top comedy acts. All proceeds from the event benefit the YMCA Financial Assistance Fund, a confidential program making Y programs and services available to all members of the Hunterdon County community, regardless of their ability to pay. This year's talented comedians are Joe Larson, Andy Pitz and headliner Dan Naturman. Joe Larson has been entertaining audiences from an early age. He has a popular blog, "Man with A Baby" and his online sketch comedy pieces with "Grandma's Favorite" are a Youtube favorite. Joe has been on the radio show "The Bob & Tom Show" and has made appearances on The Tonight Show's Laugh Squad, "Laughs" on FOX, Gotham Comedy Live and on The Speed Channel. He also appeared in the film "Stand- Up 360." Joe is followed by Andy Pitz, a regular at New York's best comedy clubs including The World Famous Comic Strip Live, The Comedy Cellar and Dangerfield's. He has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Gotham Comedy Live and was a winner on Star Search on CBS. The year's headliner, Dan Naturman, is one of Conan O'Brien's favorite guests. Dan is known to his fans as the "real winner" of NBC's Last Comic Standing 2 where he was the favorite of "judges" Drew Carey and Brett Butler. Dan's charming combination of self-deprecation and outright grouchiness has had audiences howling from coast to coast and has earned him appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, his own "Comedy Central Presents" Special, and a starring run on NBC's America's Got Talent. Currently, Dan has a recurring role on HBO's newest hit, "Crashing", and appearances on Comedy Central's "This Week at The Comedy Cellar." "Y Comedy Night is a great event! It's a night out with friends to enjoy great comedians. But it's much more than just an evening out; it's a wonderful way to give back to the community and support the Y's financial assistance program which benefits more than 1450 local children and families each year right here in Hunterdon County," said Jason Halpin, Y Comedy Night Chair. In the past two years alone, the Hunterdon County YMCA provided nearly $1 million in financial assistance in the form of scholarships for much needed programs including child care, summer camp and swim lessons. The Y also sponsors important community programs like LiveStrong for cancer survivors, One Step for adults with MS and the Dolphins Special Olympics Swim Team, as well as the Active Older Adult Center. From childcare for infants to activities for our aging population, Y programs touch the lives of hundreds of Hunterdon County community members each year. In addition to dinner and entertainment, the evening includes a Silent Auction with chances to win fabulous gifts and experiences from local vendors.
