7 s e p t e m b e r 2 0 1 9 This year marks the 40th anniversary of Hunterdon Hospice and the Hunterdon Medical Center Auxiliary and Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation are excited to celebrate at our upcoming event, "A Culinary Affair" goes… German! on Monday, September 23, at The Farmhouse from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The Farmhouse, (formerly The Grand Colonial), is located at 86 Rte. 173 in Hampton, NJ (between exits 11 & 12 off Rte. 78). The event will feature specialty food tastings from local restaurants, wineries and breweries. Guests will enjoy the German decorated theme "A Culinary Affair" goes…German! In addition to food tastings and beverages, the entertainment featured this year will be The Adlers Band. A silent auction will be held including a variety of items such as area restaurant gift packages, golf foursomes, and spa packages. Highlights in this years' auction include a Custom 6 course dinner for 10 people, created by a local caterer that is sure to please and delight. Another highlight is a Wine Tasting for eight at a local Hunterdon County Vineyard. Some of the restaurants, wineries and breweries participating in this year's event include: 15 Landsdowne Catering, 55 Main, Black River Roasters, Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse, Chive & Thyme, Clinton Atrium Café, Descendants Brewing at The Ship Inn, Hunterdon Brewing Co., Maddalena's Catering, Matt's Red Rooster Grill, Metropolitan Seafood & Gourmet, Old Croton Bar & Grill, Shoprite of Hunterdon County, Stanton Ridge Country Club, The Farmhouse and The Ryland Inn. New restaurants are participating this year and many are bringing specialty dishes made exclusively for this event. Some of the specialty dishes to be served include Spicy German Beer Mustard Brussel Sprouts with Charred Pork Flat Iron, Kale and Apple Pork Rouladen, and a Toasted Onion & Poppy Spaetzle with bacon and chive. Wine tastings and specialty local brewed beers will also be featured. Sponsors for this year's event currently include: Archer & Greiner, Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Hunterdon Healthcare Partners, Hunterdon Medical Center Auxiliary, Medical Director of Hunterdon Hospice, Martin Funeral Home, MidJersey Health Corporation and Wright Ford Funeral Home. Proceeds from the event will benefit Hunterdon Hospice and Visiting Health and Supportive Services. Hunterdon Hospice, celebrating their 40th anniversary, provides physical, spiritual, psychosocial and bereavement support for people with a life-threatening illness and their families. Visiting Health and Supportive Services has been providing certified home health aides to care for chronically ill patients, sick children and the homebound elderly in the comfort of their own home for almost 61 years. Last year's event raised over $49,000. Tickets to 'A Culinary Affair' are $65 if purchased by August 24 or $75 thereafter. There will also be a 50/50 cash raffle.
