Hunterdon Behavioral Health's Intensive Family Support Services
(IFSS) will be holding a special program on Tuesday, August 13 called Is Vaping
Safe? Beginning at 6:30 pm, the event will be held in Meeting Room C at the
Hunterdon Medical Center, located at 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington.
Vaping is the inhaling of a vapor created by an electronic cigarette.
This program will discuss the potential health effects of vaping, whether or not
you can quit smoking using a vape, and ways to quit smoking. The program will
be led by Elizabeth Manner, LCSW, Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist,
Addictions Counselor Hunterdon Behavioral Health.
Intensive Family Support Services assists families in their
understanding of psychiatric disorders and the effects upon family life. Their
goal is to form a collaborative, therapeutic alliance with families so that they
can increase their knowledge, as well as coping and communication skills. IFSS
consults with families about their individual needs. The counselors work with
families to reduce isolation, stigma, and increase their understanding of mental
illness. IFSS is crucial to families so that they do not feel overwhelmed during
