The NHHS Theater Organization will present the musical, Catch Me If You Can in the school theater on Thursday, March 1, and Friday, March 2 at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, March 3 at 2:00 pm. Tickets can be ordered by messaging NHTOtickets@gmail.com. The show is produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. North Hunterdon High School is located at 1445 Rt. 31 in Annandale. Written by Terrence McNally, the play chronicles the exploits of con man, check forger and impostor Frank Abagnale, Jr. By the age of twenty-one, Abagnale had become a millionaire, and had assumed several identities, including those of a doctor, an airline pilot and a state prosecutor. After his arrest and time in prison, Abagnale now fights the kinds of crimes he once committed as an FBI consultant and lecturer on financial fraud at the FBI. Abagnale's story, told in his 1980 autobiography, was the subject of a 2002 motion picture. The musical opens at Miami International Airport in the 1960s, with the capture of Frank Abagnale, played by senior George Kapetanakis, by FBI agent Carl Hanratty, (senior Jack Murry). In a flashback, heralded by the jazzy opening number, "Live in Living Color", Frank narrates his criminal career from its beginning in his teens at home with his mother Paula (junior Emma Twohy) and father, Frank Sr. (senior Andrew Tota). The senior Abagnale shares his philosophy of swindling in his solo, "The Pinstripes Are All That They See". Included in the tale are Frank's high school principal (senior Meredith Harmon), neighbor Jack Barnes (freshman Joshua Zalot), a doctor (sophomore Aidan Lavigne) and a socialite (senior Adrian Krowicki) whom Frank manages to hoodwink. Close on the trail of the young swindler, FBI Agent Hanratty is assisted by agents Branton (sophomore Joe McDevitt ), Cod (sophomore Michael Molzen) and Dollar (sophomore Evan Tomljanovich). Hanratty ponders his devotion to the law and order which Abagnale disdains in the number "Don't Break the Rules". Romance finds its way into the story in the person of nurse Brenda Strong (senior Lexie Miller), who brings Frank home to meet her folks, Roger and Carol (sophomore Bobby Fasciano and junior Emily Miljkovic). Other characters in the production are: a judge (freshman Nate Tota), railroad agent (junior Raymond Setaro), Pan Am executive (sophomore Alex Paige), Bank Teller (senior Juliana Gonzalez- Rivas), stewardess (sophomore Grace Gartlgruber), and bartender (sophomore Quinn Cowell). The ensemble includes: Andrea Baumgarten, Sarah Berg, Sabrina Bunca, Sera Bunca, Brendan Calv, Elizabeth Caso, Alicia Chapman, G r a c e C o r c o r a n , M a g g i e D e a n , G e o r g i a DiRoberto, Morgen Fisher, Caitlin Gilvey, Chloe Giordano, Kerry Glacken, Anneliese Johnson, Makaela Kessie, Christine Khalil, Claire Kuo, Faith Lipoczky, Kira Lospinoso, Amelia Milza, Cassandra Mitros, Anna Monks, Katie Padmos, Shayne Piro, Taylor Ussia, Melanie Yakely, and Emily Young. The show is produced by music teacher Katie Cudworth, directed by English teacher Mary Meo, conducted by music teacher Vincent Angeline, vocal directed by music teachers Charles Hopta and Katie Cudworth, choreographed by French teacher Kerrie Decker and costumed by English teacher Regina Cavo. Staff members Aaron Willsey, Kevin Byrne and Ann Semanchik work behind the scenes on sets and tech. Seniors Paeton Horsch and Meredith Harmon are assistant directors. The musical score, composed by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman, includes the Pan Am stewardesses' "Jet Set", the father and son duet "Butter Outta Cream", Hanratty's introspective "The Man Inside the Clues" and the bittersweet ballad "Fly, Fly Away".
