The Good News Home for Women has been home to hundreds of women who have walked through our doors desperate, lonely and broken. They come from all walks of life since no one is immune to the disease of addiction and the heartache it brings to the afflicted and their family and friends as well. We are one of a small number of women-only residential rehabilitation centers in the state. The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (SPTS), in partnership with the Harvest Family Success Center (HFSC) and Sphericality, is hosting a "trusted adult" presentation titled The Role of the Trusted Adult on March 14 at 6:30 pm at Sphericality in Flemington. The need for increased awareness about teen suicide prevention is paramount. The Role of the Trusted Adult is a program that educates individuals who are viewed by youth as role models on the warning signs of suicide, confidentiality, protective factors and resources. It is estimated that four in five teens who attempt suicide exhibit clear warning signs. Ensuring that parents and other "trusted adults" are aware of the warning signs and resources available will help save the lives of our teens. Registration is required, Please call Penni at the Harvest Family Success Center: 908.237.0465 to register today. For more information on what you or your community can to do help prevent suicide, visit: www.sptsusa.org. If you or someone you know may be suicidal, call 1.800.273.TALK (8255).
