Students in all three grades were challenged by a daily geography question. In the middle of December, students took the first round of the bee which helped determine the ten contestants that participate in the school-side Geography Bee. The questions, which are supplied by the National Geographic Society, are very difficult. The winner of the school-wide bee will advance to the regional round. Clinton Township Middle School The winter season sports and activities at CTMS are underway! We had a great turnout for students trying out for boys basketball, girls basketball and cheerleading. Coach Helmstetter and Coach Cardona have had the boys basketball teams practicing since before Thanksgiving and are ready to play in the very competitive CJJBL. Coach Downs and Coach Lindaberry have been working hard with the girls basketball teams. They are looking forward to a successful season and a deep run in the playoffs. The cheerleading team has been fine-tuning their routines. We have a very talented group of girls this year. The girls have been working hard with Coach Knapp and Coach Spadone. Good luck to all of our winter athletes! CTMS hosted the annual North Hunterdon Debate C o m p e t i t i o n i n D e c e m b e r . Our students did a fabulous job and won three out of the four final round debates! We have three Law Adventure groups and one Law Fair group at CTMS, and we are working hard to put the final touches on our court cases. Sponsored by the New Jersey Bar Foundation, this competition is a mock trial program where the students learn about the law and write original court cases. Winners will be invited to perform their case in front of a judge. Go, CTMS! Our Ninth Annual Relay for Life will be held at CTMS on Friday, March 1 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
