Yoga Teacher, ACE Certified Personal Trainer Yoga is a systematic approach to health and healing. The definition of yoga is "to yoke" or to unify to make whole. The practice of yoga includes conscious breathing, physical postures that strengthen and stretch the body along with integrating the mind for stress relief. There are many different styles of yoga. This particular style focuses on linking movement with breath to create a moving meditation. It is appropriate for all levels of practitioners with many modifications available when needed. The best part is yoga can be practiced every day! Learning to connect the mind, body and breath helps us to direct our attention inward. We then become more aware of life moment to moment. In a class we work with traditional Sun Salutations to warm up the body. We then transition to some standing poses to build strength and stability. Next we move into gentle twisting movements for releasing back tension and creating mobility. We include balance poses to build awareness for both sides of the body. The remaining time is spent working with forward bends and back bends to build flexibility. Yoga helps to create a sense of ease in the body while creating strong and flexible muscles and healthy joints. Come check out the classes we offer here at the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers. We offer different styles at varying times throughout the day. Complete beginners are welcome and can come to the Beginner class held at our Clinton site on Wednesdays at 4:30 pm. I look forward to seeing you in class! Bring this article in with you to one of our Wellness Center locations and enjoy a one day complimentary guest pass on us! (Please note: This offer is limited to one visit per guest, per month). h u n t e r d o n h e A L t h A n d w e L L n e s s C e n t e r L o C A t I o n s : Whitehouse Station: 537 Route 22 East, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889 Clinton: 1738 Route 31 North, Clinton, NJ 08809 L I B r A r y n e w J e r s e y m A k e r s d A y I s m A r C h 2 4 , 2 0 1 8 – C A L L F o r e x h I B I t o r s !
