Subtle enhancements can be completed using Botox and facial fillers. Botox is a muscle relaxant used to soften expression lines on the face and forehead by inactivating the muscles responsible. Injections help raise the brow and smooth laugh lines (crow's feet). In addition, the face loses volume and sags over time. Facial fillers are used to treat these concerns and rejuvenate the face. They are composed of the same proteins and water molecules in the body, so they are well tolerated and blend in seamlessly. The mouth area and lips are similarly prone to volume loss. Fillers can reverse the changes by building up the lips and diminishing smile lines. Botox and facial fillers are routinely used in conjunction with surgery for subtle enhancement and rejuvenation. The results of Botox dissipate after 3-4 months. Fillers last from six months to two years.
