October 29, 4:00 pm, Church of the Holy Spirit, 3 Haytown Road, Lebanon | www.ChurchHolySpirit.org Freewill Offerings will benefit the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund! "500 Years of Music For Guitar"-- a chronological tour of the guitarist's repertoire from the Renaissance to the Contemporary (also including Baroque, Classical, flamenco, jazz and Brazilian music) will be presented. There is no admission charge. This concert is offered as a part of the Jane Self Burnham Scholars Program, and freewill offerings will be accepted to benefit the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Peter Griggs (www.griggspeter.wordpress.com) is a guitarist and composer from New York City. Over the past fifteen years he has presented literally hundreds of concerts in churches large and small throughout the USA and Europe, and has come to appreciate the special atmosphere, acoustics and fellowship such concerts offer. The program includes music by J.S. Bach, Gaspar Sanz, Bartolome Calatuyud, Django Reinhardt, Thelonious Monk and Baden Powell - as well as the artist's own compositions. www.churchholyspirit.org/events/ peter-griggsguitar-concert. h u n t e r D o n p r e p a r a t o r y s c h o o l ' s l I b r a r y W I s h l I s t We all have a great and unique opportunity to help a wonderful school, share our love of reading and make room on our own library shelves at the same time! We are running a Book Drive for Hunterdon Preparatory School (HPS), and need your help to fill the school library with books the young students will want to read. The Wish List is to the right. Please take a look, and see what you might have in your own collection to donate to the school. Or, perhaps you would like to purchase a new book from the list to help complete their growing library! We are hoping you will pass along this list to your Book Clubs and anyone else with a desire to help feed young minds with good reading material. Please respond to this article if you can help. I'll keep an updated list of what books are collected so we don't have many duplicates. Once you have the book, let us know and we'll arrange for pick up. Thank you so much for considering donating a book! Located in Annandale, HPS has been helping students build bright and productive futures for more than 40 years. The School's "Outside the Box" approach to education integrates individualized academic instruction with supported social activities to enable complex learners to access their gifts and talents and, in turn, achieve personal growth and success. For those who don't know HPS, this is a little jewel of a school right here in our own community which receives students from 45 school districts and nine counties in NJ. Please visit the website; I know you will be impressed with what you see: www.Hunterdonprep.org.
