Visiting Health and Supportive Services (VHSS) a member of
Hunterdon Healthcare, is now taking applications for the Homemaker-
Home Health Aide Certification Training Course. The course will be
held from October 23 - November 10. Classroom hours are from 8:00
am – 4:30 pm. Clinical hours start at 7:30 am. Participants of the training
class will be paid for classroom and clinical hours. VHSS will also pay for the cost
of the course for those individuals who successfully complete the Training Program
and Exam, and agree to work for VHSS for at least 6 months after completion of
the course. The cost of the course is $750.
Upon successful completion of the Training Program and Exam
participants will be certified as a New Jersey Homemaker-Home Health
Aide by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Acceptance into the Training
Program is contingent upon successful completion of pre-placement requirements,
which include a background investigation, references and a pre-placement physical
exam. Candidates who successfully complete the Training Program and Certification
Exam will be offered employment on a Per Diem basis with VHSS.
As a Home Health Aide, you will assist clients in Hunterdon County
and surrounding areas with personal care, bathing, toileting, therapy
reinforcement, housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry and errands.
You will provide care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a valid
driver's license, reliable transportation and willing to drive during
inclement weather; be able to stand, stoop, bend and lift at least 50
pounds; and agree to work for VHSS for six months after completion
of course. The application deadline is Friday, September 29, 2017.
