While this camp-like experience is created with scouts in mind, all children are welcome to join us for a fun and exciting week! Children will come to the farm from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm each day for a week. Under the direction of naturalist educator, Rachel McGovern, children will complete the requirements for scout badges, participate in fun, nature- based activities and create beautiful crafts. At the end of the week, kids will come home with five completed badges or petals and a lifetime of memories. Each camp will cover badges specific for the listed scouting level. Children who do not participate in scouting may join the camp appropriate for their age level and participate in all badge activities with scouts. These activities may include hiking, learning first- aid or learning about survival in nature. Brownies, Bear and Wolf Cubs (1-3rd graders) meet the week of July 24-28; Juniors and Webelos (4-5th grade) meet the week of July 31 - August 4; and Daisies and Tiger Cubs (K-1st grade) meet the week of August 7 - 11. Cost of the camp is $195 and includes all activities and a t-shirt. To register or for more information, please email: info@ valleycrestfarmnj.org or call: 908.238.9696. Ruth Keesing has published a revised edition of her booklet "What Do I Do Now?" – a practical guide for surviving the tasks associated with the death of a loved one. It addresses Probating a Will, Social Security, Military Benefits, Funeral Information and other relevant subjects. And, most importantly, What To Do While Everybody is Still Alive. If you're interested in purchasing a copy, email Ruth @ ruth.ella@comcast.net. Also available at the Clinton Book Store!
