2 3 M a y 2 0 1 7 H u n t e r d o n f o o t b a l l c l u b Hunterdon Football Club, also known as Hunterdon FC, is a community centered, not-for-profit soccer club that was formed in 2013 as a result of the merger of North Hunterdon and Hunterdon United Soccer Clubs. The two legacy clubs and, more recently, Hunterdon FC, have a combined 65 years of experience in providing soccer opportunities to the greater Hunterdon County area. Hunterdon FC currently offers competitive and elite travel soccer programs for children and young adults ages U6 thru U19. Our mission is to create a positive environment for all athletes to improve as individuals while learning and playing the game of soccer in a fun and challenging environment. We emphasize and value good sportsmanship and teamwork, fair play, and competitive spirit. We will be holding our Spring tryouts for competitive travel teams playing in the seasonal year starting Fall of 2017 through the Spring of 2018. These tryouts are specifically for boys and girls whose birth years are 2001 through 2009. Hunterdon FC is pleased to announce the formation of its Pre- Travel Academy for players born in 2010 and 2011! The training program will be age appropriate, aligned with current USSF directives for youth player development and is best suited for children who have aspiration to play competitive travel soccer in the upcoming years. Training will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting Monday, April 3 and will run for eight weeks. Additional details ,including an outline of the Program Curriculum, can be seen on our website: www.HunterdonFC.org. g o o d n e w S H o M e f o r w o M e n – a n n u a l g o l f c l a S S i c The Good News Home for Women is accepting registrations for its annual golf tournament fundraiser which will be held on May 22 at Beaver Brook Country Club in Annandale. The Flemington rehabilitation facility is a spiritually focused residential substance abuse treatment center that accepts women 18 years of age and older regardless of race, religion or ability to pay. The tournament is one of three major fundraisers held each year. The rain or shine event begins with continental breakfast and a putting contest at 8:00 am. The shotgun start is at 9:00 am. The tournament is in a 'best ball' format. Lunch and an awards ceremony will follow. Ernestine Winfrey, executive director of the GNH, will speak during lunch accompanied by testimonies from current residents. The cost for a single golfer is $160. A Presidential Foursome' costs $1,000, ($250 per person). The registration deadline is May 12. The Good News Home for Women is celebrating its 30th year of helping women recover from drug and alcohol addictions.
