Dickens' Days and More
in Downtown Clinton!
Join us for Dickens' Days in Clinton where, once again, Downtown
Clinton turns back time and transforms into a Holiday Village beginning
on Friday, November 25 through Sunday, November 27! This event is
sponsored by The Clinton Guild, a not-for-profit group that consists of more than
70 local merchants and business owners, whose goal is to promote our unique
village and all it has to offer. Enjoy a holiday celebration with carriage rides,
caroling, storytelling and daily holiday performances. Charles Dickens, Scrooge
and Father Christmas will be strolling the streets of downtown in all their finery for
your entertainment. The town will be decorated for the holidays, with toy soldiers
on the famous Clinton Bridge, holiday greens and twinkling lights. Horse drawn
carriage rides with drivers in full Victorian costume, offer a glimpse into the past.
Musical performances of all genres will be performed by local artists and music
groups throughout the weekend.
Santa's Workshop, an interactive experience for children, will be
located on the terrace of the Hunterdon Art Museum and available
from Dickens' Days until January 1. Santa will be at the workshop
in person, on Saturdays from 1:00 - 3:00 pm for children to visit.
The Annual Community Tree Lighting on Main Street is on Friday,
November 25 at 6:30 pm – with caroling and a visit from Santa on the
old-time fire truck!
Saturday, November 26 is Shop Small Saturday! Many shops throughout
Clinton will have specials on the day and have organized educational and
marketing campaigns to promote the importance of shopping locally. Make
sure to also look out for our "Selfie Scavenger Hunt Contest" going on during that
weekend!
The Annual Clinton Christmas Parade takes place on December 2
at 7:00 pm. Late night shopping on Candlelight Night is Thursday,
December 15, from dusk until 9:00 pm!
