Mr. James "Jay" Zielinski of Riegel Federal Credit Union presented Anderson House, a halfway house for women, with the proceeds from their golf outing totaling $4,500 at their donor and volunteer appreciation event on June 28. Riegel Federal Credit Union's 12th annual golf outing was held on May 9. The event benefits selected charities each year. This year Anderson House was chosen to be a beneficiary for a portion of the event's profits. "Riegel Federal Credit Union prides itself in giving back to the Hunterdon Communities in which it serves. Since 1960 Riegel FCU has always been truly a community federal chartered credit union. Not only are we here to serve our members and improve their financial well-being, but to give back to those that also serve and provide services to the community such as Anderson House," said Zielinski, "It was without any doubt an honor and a pleasure to be invited to visit Anderson House. It was a truly a humbling experience." For over 21 years, women have found healing and recovery at Anderson House, a nonprofit residential program for women recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction. The program has a reputation of successful outcomes. Since last year, 76% of program graduates were clean, sober and employed one year after graduating—more than three times the success rate of shorter-term residential rehabilitation programs. "Anderson House relies on the generosity of its donors to continue to provide comprehensive treatment for women struggling with addiction. We help them develop new habits of living from getting up and going to work full-time, to learning how to run a household, prepare meals, budget money and repair family relationships. Many of these things are provided with the help of generous donors and foundations that supplement our limited funding sources. That's why partners like Riegel Federal Credit Union are so important," said Helen McIntosh, Clinical Director of Anderson House. With offices in Milford, Clinton, and Flemington, Riegel Federal Credit Union is another community organization which helps Hunterdon county citizens become financially literate and offer savings and loan products. The mission of the credit union is to help every member improve their financial well-being with quality service, while maintaining fiscal integrity. Since its inception in 1960, Riegel has been driven by small community feel and is largely made up of other community activists and volunteers. This past April, Mr. James "Jay" Zielinski was elected President and his mission is to continue Riegel's great work and extend its reach and scope of services.
