As you may know from earlier this year, there was no "Doing Doing Clinton– A Tropical Adventure Clinton Springtime." But that's turning out to be a good thing as little goes on in the area in the summer months. As we enter our 5th "Doing Clinton" event year, changing to a summer event adds new excitement and jazz! So "Doing Clinton – A Tropical Adventure" is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday – July 9 and 10, from noon to 4:00 pm. The emphasis is on "tropical" and "summer" – restaurants, bakeries, food/wine shops, chocolate/candy shops, ice cream/frozen yogurt and coffee/tea establishments who can all feature and showcase their mango, pineapple and coconut flavors with demonstrations, samplings or discounts. Clothing, jewelry, home décor, art, crystal and flower shops will bloom with tropical designs and colors! Beauty, nail and hair salons will with soaps, lotions, shampoos, scrubs and candles with tropical scents. Let's not forget the music, exercise/yoga, travel, books, party invitations and accessories! Summer is also a good time to look for a home in the area or upgrade/remodel and review our financial and banking needs. Check out our "Doing Clinton" Facebook page each day to ascertain what "doing activities" are posted, as well as the "day-of- event handout" as the event gets closer. We were so saddened to hear about the recent passing of Joan Schaming, co-owner (with her husband Ron Williams) of Balic of Clinton Wine & Gifts in Clinton. Joan was very active in generating events (like the one listed above) to strengthen the community and businesses of downtown Clinton. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ron and Joan's family.
