With appreciation for a great community, Dr. Drucilla Clark Clinton Township School District Mission Statement: The Clinton Township School District, in partnership with the community, achieves excellence for each child by ensuring a meaningful and challenging educational experience in a supportive environment, developing life-long learners who are responsible and productive citizens. I N O U R S C H O O L S : SuRScho Celebrate! April was National Autism Awareness Month! In order to highlight the growing need for awareness about autism, the United States recognizes April as a special opportunity to educate the public about autism and issues within the autism community. During the month of April at SRS, we celebrated National Autism Awareness Month by wearing blue every Wednesday during the month. We celebrated to shine a bright light on autism and help to increase and develop knowledge of autism and share information regarding the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention. Additionally, we celebrated the unique talents and skills of persons with autism! At Spruce Run School, we celebrated our teachers who are dedicated to supporting our programs for individuals with autism. A special thank you to our special educators and staff: Ms. Julie Tepper, Ms. Elise Pozensky-Cohen, Mrs. Sarah Barber, Mrs. Julie Tremaine and Mrs. Kim Zundel for all that they do in our classrooms and also share information with our school community about autism! Please join Spruce Run School in our effort to inspire compassion, empowerment and hope by recognizing National Autism Awareness Month. Thank you, PTA! Throughout the school year our PTA has brought additional learning opportunities in a fun and exciting way through assemblies funded by the Clinton Township PTA. The Clinton Township PTA sponsors enrichment programs to enhance the educational experience for the students of all Clinton Township schools each year. The programs are funded by the proceeds of PTA membership dollars and fundraising efforts done throughout the year. During the 2015-16 school year the students of Spruce Run School have enjoyed the following PTA-sponsored enrichment programs – and are looking forward to the upcoming assemblies, as well: • Jump with Jill: In October, Rock & Roll nutritionist Jill taught kids nutrition through music and movement! • Gizmo Guys: In December, a duo of performers amazed the students with their mastery of patterns, gravity, symmetry and fun! • Franklin Institute Traveling Science Show/ Energy: In March, students in Kindergarten and First grade learned about energy and how it's used to power everything from power plants to your body! t h E C L i N t o N t o w N s h i p f o U N d at i o N f o r E d U C a t i o N a L E x C E L L E N C E Need Graduation Ideas?
