The Clinton Elks Lodge 2434 will be holding their 14th Annual Two Day Music Festival on June 11 and 12 to raise funds for special needs children and Elks Camp Moore "Miracle on the Mountain" a camp paid for by the NJ Elks Lodges. The children are sponsored by the NJ Elk lodges in their district to spend a week at camp. Camp Moore gives the children a sense of independence; all children get a one on one counselor for the week who has special training in their disabilities. The counselors come from all over the world and spend their summers at the camp. The kids can enjoy the arts and crafts room, nature and game rooms, outdoor pool, picnics and many more activities. The monies raised from our Music Festival allows us to send more children to Elks Camp Moore and helps support children at our medical facility, Somerset Treatment Center, with medical needs that insurance may not cover. It also makes it possible for us to purchase medical equipment for special needs children in our area such as: wheel chairs, wheel chair ramps and various other items that may be needed. Rarely performed in the U.S., this British romp has charm and wit to spare and Hunterdon County's award-winning ShowKids help us hop the pond to enjoy the musical mayhem – a great way to celebrate Mother's Day! "ME & MY GIRL is extremely funny, the music is outstanding and the incredible talent of the kids in this cast will leave you in stitches and have you singing along. This is truly one of the most entertaining shows SKIT has ever done – and that's saying something!" " says Thomas Newman, director. With music by Noel Gay and its original book and lyrics by Douglas Furber and L. Arthur Rose, ME & MY GIRL had a successful original run in the West End in 1937, was turned into a film in 1939, revived in London in 1984 and came to Broadway in 1986, where it won three of its 11 Tony Award nominations. SKIT presents four performances: Saturday, May 7, 7:30 pm; Sunday, May 8, 2:00 pm; Saturday, May 14, 7:30 pm and Sunday, May 15, 2:00 pm at Voorhees High School, 256 Country Road 513, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826.
