According to SEIA, The Solar Energy Industry Association, there have been 1,632 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity installed in NJ to date. This is enough to power 257,000 homes. Thanks to a progressive legislature in NJ, the utility companies are expected to expand their renewable energy portfolio every year. So far we have been on track to meet these renewable energy demands and have even surpassed them in most years. By 2020, New Jersey is expected to be produce 30% of its energy from renewable sources. This is an achievement that will keep New Jersey at the forefront of solar energy for many years to come. Now is the time to go solar! Sure its nice to go green and all, but no one would be doing solar in NJ unless it made financial sense andnow it does!
