M a p L E s u g a r i N g L i v i N g h i s t o r y p r o g r a M Echo Hill, All ages, $1 per person suggested donation Experience first-hand the North American tradition of maple sugaring at Hunterdon County's Maple Sugaring Program! You'll take a trip through time to experience the art of the sugaring process. Along the way you'll enjoy a Native American story about the discovery of maple sap, see an early American Frontiersman taping his trees and visit a sugar "farmer" at his evaporator. At the end of the walk, everyone will get a free taste of our very own Hunterdon County maple syrup on a silver dollar pancake! • Public Open House: Saturday, March 12, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Rain date: Sunday, March 13 (check our website or call: 908.782.1158 for cancellation information). Tours begin every 20 minutes and last about 1 hour. Pre-registration is not required. • School Field Trips and Other Groups: Wednesday to Friday, March 9 to 11, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tours begin every 30 minutes and last about one hour. Pre-registration required; call: 908.782.1158 for a time slot. • Also available: Maple Sugar To Go: Let us bring Maple Sugaring to your location! $50 for the group. • Maple Sap Collection: Have your group help us collect sap! On weekdays throughout February we will schedule groups to walk to the Sugar Bush to visit our tapped trees and to collect the sap. Experience a different part of Maple Sugaring! Call us to schedule your group. Echo Hill, 1 hour, 6-25 people, ages 5 to adult (kids with adult help), $30 for the group. Then join us at the Hunterdon County Family Success Center (FSC) every Thursday night anytime between 5:30 – 7:30 pm for our free Knitting/Crochet Club! All age groups and experience levels are invited to join in on the fun, work on a hand-crafted project and enjoy dinner and socializing with our wonderful group of knitters! You can bring your own materials and work on your own projects, or just come in and use our yarn and tools to create your handmade masterpiece! How about making a scarf for the winter that matches your coat or a baby blanket for a friend or grandbaby? Our experienced teacher can guide you to the next level, whether you are a beginner or have been hand-crafting for years! We are a fun and friendly group and we are always looking for new members. Not only do we provide a warm, inviting home-like setting but dinner is also provided and, of course, like all programs at the Family Success Center, this program is absolutely free of charge! We have baskets of yarn available and waiting for YOU to join us and create something wonderful!
