This performance features Howard Blake's The Snowman and several other works that personify elements of winter. The concert will take place at 3:00 pm at the Clinton Township Middle School, 34 Grayrock Road, Clinton. In this performance, Nadia Axakowsky will narrate the story and Ryan Apgar will sing the song "Walking on Air." Music includes selections from the Disney film Frozen, Anderson's Sleigh Ride and Dance of the Tumblers"from Act 3 of Rimsky-Korsakov's The Snow Maiden. Nadia, a resident of Frenchtown, has been an actress, singer, and a voice-over professional who is currently "the female voice of the NFL." Ryan is an 8th grader at Clinton Township Middle School, studies voice with Alexandra Garrido, and played Winthrop in the Clinton Area Stage Troupe's production of "The Music Man" last summer. The performance will be followed by an "instrument petting zoo" in the lobby, a popular feature of the children's concerts in the past. Members of the Symphony, many of whom are music teachers, will be on hand to guide young people in trying out various instruments. Hunterdon Musical Instrument Corp., located in Flemington, is again loaning the instruments that will be available for this hands-on experience. All tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door of the auditorium before the concert. Advance sales are available through the group's web site, www. HunterdonMusicalArts.org, or the following area merchants (cash or check only): Califon Book Shop, Clinton Book Shop, Teaberry's Tea Room in Flemington, Minette's Candies or The Book Garden in Frenchtown. Visit the web site for more information. For accommodations for disabilities, call 908.995.7977. In case of snow, the concert will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 8. In addition to his work with the symphony, Conductor Lawrence Kursar teaches instrumental music at Woodglen School in Lebanon Township and plays French horn with the Crosswinds Trio, Main Street Brass Quintet, and a number of orchestras in the area. This event is sponsored by Hunterdon Musical Arts, which is funded in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/ Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through funds administered by the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission. m e e t yA n k e e s ' o w n J O E P E P I T O N E A n d m i C k e y r i v e r s i n p e r s o n A t r C C o l l e C t i B l e s i n l e B A n o n !
