"And now we welcome the new year.
Full of things that have never been."
– Rainer Maria Rilke
"Dear Julie,
I would like to thank you for giving a shout out to local businesses.
It is so true to have a strong local economy we need the community
to think small local business first. Our business, the Artisan Kitchen
Studio, has been here in Lebanon for the last 30 years. We had to
adjust our business to go with the change in times but we managed to
survive and occasionally thrive. What people need to know is we also
use small local businesses when building our cabinets, Hunterdon
Glass, Hunterdon Mill and Hardware, Fox Lumber and Top Knobs, to
name a few. When people use us for their cabinetry needs, when they
call, always the owner (my husband) or I will answer the phone, so
it is very personal and hands-on! Our goal is to please people. Every
one of our customers has a name and we know them. So thank you
so much, what you said means the world to us and we are grateful."
Best Regards,
Deborah Butler, Artisan Kitchen Studio
"Hi Julie,
I just came across your 11/11 newsletter that I saved. I love how
appreciative you are. I kept it as a reminder to always be thankful.
Thanks for making a difference. Your articles always make me smile
and tear up too in a good way. Thank you for always inspiring me to
be better." – Ellie Voorhees
Hi Ellie,
I hope all is well with you and your family! Thank you so much for
your kind words — I so appreciate it! I had forgotten about that
column, so I just went back and re-read it. I think it works for my
column for our 2016 New Year issue, so check it out on page 2!"
Thanks, Julie
Ringing in this New Year's issue is bittersweet for Ruth and me.
We are saddened by the recent passing of our much-beloved
history columnist, Frank Curcio. Frank's wife Carol, his children
Cathy and Chris, and his extended family are in our thoughts
and prayers. Frank will truly be missed. –Julie Flynn
