How is that possible, you may ask? The district's current debt will be completely paid off in 2016-2017. If the referendum passes, the new Annual Debt Service Payment ($487,934) will be less than the current Annual Debt Service Payment ($792,750), meaning less will need to be collected from taxes. For Clinton Township, this means the estimated annual tax rate for debt service would go from $11.37 to $7.00 (per 100,000 assessed property value). Projects included in referendum are: • Transform library into Multi-Media Interactive Student Center/North Hunterdon • Installation of new energy efficient HVAC unit for Social Studies and World Language Wings/North Hunterdon • Replacement of Visitor/Band Bleachers/North Hunterdon • Replacement of Tennis Court Bleachers/North Hunterdon • Interior and exterior renovations of Athletic Field House/North Hunterdon • Transform library into Multi-Media Interactive Student Center/Voorhees • Replacement of Visitor Bleachers/Voorhees • Addition of ADA compliant ramp to Home Bleachers/Voorhees • Installation of new artificial turf field to replace existing grass field/Voorhees If the referendum passes, the district will be awarded 23.64% Annual State Debt Service Aid ($1,731,428). Taxpayers' share of Annual Debt Service would be reduced to 76.36% ($5,592,862). If the referendum fails, the district would not receive the State aid. More info on the referendum, including photos of facilities, can be found on the district's website, www.nhvweb.net, click on the "Referendum 2015" link. Please vote on November 3!
