The Hunterdon Mohawks Boys and Girls Lacrosse Club, a non-profit
501(c)3 organization, is the largest boys and girls youth program, serving
the sending districts into North Hunterdon High School for 21 years. Our
youth players practice and play home games in their own community and
play very competitive away games in neighboring towns. This is as a result
of our membership with US Lacrosse, the NJJLL and JGLA. We offer a Jr.
Mohawk program, designed for boys and girls, Kindergarten through
second grade, and our boys and girls program offer teams from third
to eighth grade. The purpose of the Mohawk program is to provide the highest
level of coaching to the youth in our community and introduce, develop and instruct
boys and girls in the game of lacrosse, so that they develop a life-long love for this
sport. Our experienced, dedicated youth coaches teach players how to work hard, to
become fundamentally sound, preparing them for scholastic play by the 8th grade.
Our Head Coaches are required to complete: a background check, the
"Positive Coaching Alliance" course, CDC Heads-Up Concussion Training,
the Rutgers Safety Course, and be a member of US Lacrosse. Many of our
coaches are US Lacrosse Level I certified, and among our coaches we have
a former Division 1 coach, and former collegiate players.
When youth-players learn to love the game of lacrosse and have a desire to play at
a higher level, we introduce them to higher level opportunities to help them improve
their game through our partnerships with "select" lacrosse clubs. Exposing our youth
players to other styles of coaching helps them to become well-rounded players as they
prepare to play in high school. The philosophy of the Mohawks has been incredibly
successful as witnessed by the championships won by both the boys and girls teams
at North Hunterdon High School. Many of the boys on North's team are a product of
our Mohawk program, and nearly all of the girls on the girl's team are alumni of our
Mohawk program! Register online today at: www.hunterdonmohawklacrosse.
