The Annual CEA/Johanna Foods Turkey Trot, held in Flemington on Thanksgiving morning, is seeking enthusiastic volunteers! With more than 6000 participants and thousands of spectators expected, CEA relies on the support of volunteers to make this massive event safe, enjoyable and successful for everyone. Volunteers assist with registration, handing out Turkey Trot shirts and various items, assisting with crowd control, directing runners/ walkers, set up and clean up. The volunteering is easy, fun and relaxing, yet filled with the energy of the race and the beginning of the holiday season. All volunteers receive a distinctive Turkey Trot long-sleeve t-shirt. Volunteers are needed on Thanksgiving morning, November 26 from 7:00 am to 11:30 am as well as at the Turkey Trot Expo held the prior Saturday, November 21 with shifts from 8:30am to 12:30 and 12 noon to 4pm. Eddie Schell, CEA's volunteer coordinator, says "Recruit your friends and family as a group to join the fantastic team of CEA volunteers. It's a great time of year, on the day of giving thanks, to help others and be with loved ones at the same time." The Turkey Trot fundraiser supports the various programs at the Center for Educational Advancement (CEA), a nonprofit that has been working to find meaningful employment for people with cognitive and physical disabilities and disadvantages since 1970. For more information, or to become a CEA volunteer, contact Eddie at: eschell@ceaemployment.com or call: 908.782.1480, ext. 239.
