Additional copies may be found on our website at: http://goo.gl/dBd8Lu Please be sure to look for the letter from Mrs. Goad at the end of August to find out who your child's new Preschool, Kindergarten or First Grade teacher will be! Please mark your calendars for August 26 for the School Visitation Day at SRS from 2-3 PM to see your child's new classroom and meet the teacher prior to the first day of school. More information will be included in the August mailing. Enjoy the rest of the summer and don't forget the sunscreen! Reminder that we are celebrating 60 years of learning at SRS during the 2015-2016 school year. If you lived in Clinton Township in 1955 and have something to share with our students, we would love to hear from you. Perhaps you attended Spruce Run School in 1955 or remember childhood activities. We are also looking for memorabilia. If you have photos or know of anyone with a classic 1955 car, please contact Mrs. Sidbury, our enrichment teacher, who is coordinating activities. She can be reached at esidbury@ctsd.k12.nj.us or by phone at 908.735.7916 ext 124. We look forward to hearing from you! t Tohip Midd Scho On June 20 we said congratulations and goodbye to our graduating 8th graders! We wish them the best as they embark on the next stage in their academic career. We also recognized and said goodbye to two veteran CTMS teachers, Mrs Cathy Nojiri, grade 8 science teacher, and Mrs. Adrienne Hodulik, Literacy Support Coach, who were retiring. We wished both Mrs. Nojiri and Mrs. Hodulik the best and will miss them greatly. If you were driving past CTMS on a weekday morning in July it was hard to believe that it was the summer and school was officially over. CTMS was a hive of activity filled with students attending the CTSD Extended School Year program and the Clinton Township Recreation Department Summer Program. In both programs students enjoyed a multitude of activities designed to promote learning while having fun. As we relax and take time to rejuvenate over the summer it is important to recognize the importance of summer reading. Research shows that students who do not read over the summer demonstrate academic loss in the Fall. All CTSD students are expected to read throughout the summer. Our purpose is to encourage students to acquire the wonderful lifetime habit of independent reading. Information on the reading requirements for incoming seventh and eighth grade students can be found on the CTMS library wiki: https:// wiki.ctsd.k12.nj.us/wiki/projects/ ctmslibrary/CTMS_LIBRARY.html REMINDER: Save the Date for Summer Visitation! Classroom Visitation for the 15-16 School Year is August 26 RVS & CTMS: 1:00-2:00 pm SRS & PMG: 2:00-3:00 pm See you there! Rd V Scho As students are enjoying the summer vacation and the custodial staff is busy preparing the building for September, we have some teachers spending a part of their summer vacation back in the classroom. What an exciting time for this group who are participating in the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy. Diane Chelminiak, Joanne Filus, and Katie Shea from Patrick McGaheran School and Kim Braun, Courtney Hauck and Susan Rivers from Round Valley School met in Pittsburg, compliments of an ExxonMobil Grant, to increase students' learning and appreciation of math and science. Happy learning to all; students will have some great science and math experiences!
