Session C: Five Thursdays, August 6 to September 3 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, Arboretum, ages 15 and up, $100, materials not included Don't think you can draw or paint, but you would like to give it a try? "Everyone has talent, they just don't know it!" says art instructor and illustrator Lena Shiffman. Using a variety of subject matter, including still life subjects, or photographs, Ms. Shiffman will work with students to improve their drawing and painting skills. Students may work in charcoal, pastels, oil, acrylic, or watercolor paints. Students supply their own materials. Beginners, please bring charcoal sticks and charcoal pencils, an eraser and a medium sketch pad to the first class. Material list will be supplied at the first class. An evening of fun in a relaxed atmosphere; you will be amazed at what you can accomplish! All ability levels welcome! Registration for this class is required and is first-come, first-served space is limited in order to maintain a small class atmosphere. Our concert series has always been family-oriented. Please be considerate of your neighbors, so everyone can enjoy the music and the natural surroundings. If you smoke, make sure the smoke does not bother anyone else. Keep children in sight at all times, so that their safety is assured and their play will not disturb others. Some guests may be afraid of dogs, so observe our park leash law and control your pet. Please pick up all litter. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE NOT PERMITTED.Starting around 6:30 pm, food will be available to purchase. There will be hot dogs, drinks and ice cream. We try our best to hold our concerts outdoors, but sometimes weather conditions dictate that we move inside. These decisions are made during the late afternoon of each concert day.
