United Way of Hunterdon County (UWHC) is running its annual Tools 4 School supply drive! The program provides 1,300 school supply kits and/ or backpacks to ensure all Hunterdon County students go back to school feeling confident and prepared. Supply donations will be accepted through August 7. Visit www.uwhunterdon.org for drop-off locations (available by mid-July) and a list of needed supplies. We are asking individuals, companies and organizations to participate in the drive by either donating school supplies or providing a monetary donation to support the program. Supplies ranging from erasers and crayons to backpacks and scientific calculators are all in high demand. An easy way to give is by visiting https://yougivegoods.com/tools4school2015. The Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick–Hunterdon County (FSSP) host their Eighth Annual charity golf outing on Friday, July 17 at the scenic Beaver Brook Golf Club in Clinton! In the past eight years the Friendly Sons have raised and distributed some $140,000 to Hunterdon County families in need. This charity outing is their major fundraiser of the year and draws more than 145 golfers. Hunterdon County businesses are invited to participate as sponsors and prize donors and everyone is invited to register and play by visiting: www.FSSPHunterdon.com. The day includes grilled lunch, golf, dinner, refreshments and a great time. The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Hunterdon County is a registered social charitable organization that celebrates Irish culture while assisting Hunterdon families in need. The FSSP raises and distributes funds to families devastated by medical bills, assists children with disabilities and supports non- profits that benefit people in need. Most recently FSSP assistance went to a family with two parents having medical problems, helped the Family Success Center move their offices and assisted a Franklin Twp policeman with medical bills. Helping others is a cornerstone of the group. The FSSP/HC invites new members to join them the second Tuesday each month at 8:00 pm at the Clinton Elks Lodge–hope to see you there! Questions?
