Mane Stream (adaptive horsemanship and equine assisted therapies) is expanding in some exciting ways and is hosting an Open House on Sunday, April 12, 10:00 am-3:00 pm at 83 Old Turnpike Road in Oldwick! See and hear how equine assisted therapies and activities can improve the quality of life for people with physical, developmental, emotional and medical challenges! Tour the facility, see the brand new therapy clinic spaces for gross-motor training, sensory integration equipment and fine-motor/speech room. Speak directly with the highly trained therapists (Occupational, Physical, and Speech & Language Pathologist) and PATH International Registered Instructors. Children of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in fun activities at our Camp Cold Brook – an inclusive horseback riding day camp for those with special needs, their siblings and their peers. No prior horse experience needed. All attendees who register for camp receive a 10% discount. Special new programs like "Take the Reins" for Veterans and "Horses for Healing" for those living with, recovering from and living life after cancer will also be highlighted with the hopes of spreading the word to those who might benefit most from these equine assisted activities. Mane Stream is also having a Tack Sale with a wide variety of brand name NEW and gently used tack, riding apparel, blankets, stable equipment and much more. All proceeds from the tack sale will benefit Mane Stream's horses and therapy programs. Mane Stream accepts horse related donated items year-round. This diverse camp guarantees to be engaging for the beginner rider, those with no horse experience and emerging riders alike. All campers receive daily riding lessons, participate in horsemanship activities like grooming, tacking, leading, learning about horses and basic horse care. Campers will also participate in fun activities like arts and crafts; games and trails rides will be scheduled throughout the week. Participants can choose from one or more of the 9 week long sessions starting June 22 and going through August 21. And for the horse crazy kid that just can't get enough of horses in his/her life make sure to sign up for "HORSES, HORSES, AND MORE HORSES" (July 6-10, July 20-24). This not-for-profit group was formed in 1972 and consists of more than 70 local merchants and business owners. Their goal is to promote Clinton's uniqueness and what it has to offer to residents and visitors. All are welcome to attend!
