The way we grieve is highly individualized There are a vast array of emotions, experiences, changes, and conditions that can occur. When I did therapy with relatives of 9/11 victims, I observed many dif- ferent ways that people dealt with their grief and anger. Some wanted to memorialize their loved ones right away; others could not face the finality. A wide array of emotions were experienced including anxiety, depression, grief, rage, fear and guilt. People often internalize a loss with feelings of guilt when someone dies. It may be because they didn't visit the deceased often, got upset at the deceased, or wished they had said or done something differently. In general, there are five stages of grief, but not everyone goes through all stages or takes steps in a prescribed order. The stages are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Self -care is extremely important after the death of a loved one. The living need to take care of themselves physically, spiritually, intellectually, emo- tionally and socially. Five Essential Tasks of Healing After a Death: • Telling the story of the relationship you had with your loved one to others (close friends, family, clergy) • Beginning to accept the loss • Allowing yourself to freely feel the feelings • Adjusting and reorganizing your life • Moving forward toward a "new normal" And remember, "Love Doesn't End When Life Ends" For a free consultation, contact Lyn Siegel MSW, MPH, LCSW: 908.586.3254, email: lynsiegel@embarqmail.com • 50 Beaver Avenue, Annandale NJ 08801. www.ClintonTherapist.citymax.com. 2 0 1 5 h u n t e r d o n h u S k i e S f o o t B a L L & C h e e r r e g i S t r a t i o n Interested in your son or daughter joining a National Championship caliber football and cheer program? The Hunterdon Mohawks Lacrosse Club contin- ues to witness significant growth, making us the largest lacrosse program serving sending districts of North Hunterdon High School and one of the largest youth organizations in Hunterdon County! Our youth players practice and play home games in our own community and play all competitive away games in neighboring towns, as a result of our membership with US Lacrosse, the NJJLL and JGLA. The purpose of the Mohawk program is to introduce, develop and instruct boys and girls in the game of lacrosse so that they develop a life-long love for the sport. Our experienced coaches teach players how to work hard, to become fundamentally sound and to learn to love play- ing this game. We offer a Junior Mohawk program, designed for boys and girls, Kindergarten through second grade. Our boys and girls program offers teams from third to eighth grade. Among our coaches we have a former Division 1 coach, Level 1 Certified coaches and former collegiate players. When a youth player learns to love the game of lacrosse, and has a desire to play at a higher level, through our part- nerships we will introduce them to "select" lacrosse clubs, with higher level competitive opportunities to help them improve their game. Exposing our youth players to other styles of coaching helps them to become well-rounded players as they prepare to play in high school. The philosophy of the Mohawks has been incredibly successful, as witnessed by the championships won by both the boys' and girls' teams at North Hunterdon High School. Many of the boys on North's team are a product of our Mohawk program and nearly all of the girls on the girls' team are Mohawk alums!
