She's also appeared on Good Morning America several times, once with Mario Battali! You or your kids can learn from the champion by attending delicious and fun hands-on or demonstration classes in her Garage Kitchen, a truly transformed space that accommodates 14 students. Or let Chef Rachel plan a special cooking class event for you in her kitchen or your home: birthdays, anniversaries, bridal events, rehearsal dinners or just bring your book group and a gang of friends for a delightful culinary experience. Visit the website for more information about classes and services or to browse through over 150 blog posts with recipes written in Chef Rachel's unique and humorous voice. www.foodfixkitchen.com. i m m a C u l at e C o n C e P t i o n s C h o o l P l a n s f o r n a t i o n a l C a t h o l i C s C h o o l s w e e k Open House! "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service" is the theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2015. Immaculate Conception School will observe National Catholic Schools Week with Masses, open houses and a variety of activities for our students, school families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, ICS focuses on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contribution to our church, communities and our nation. Immaculate Conception School invites prospective students, their families and community residents to one of two open houses at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Sunday January 25 or 8:30 am – 2:00 pm, Wednesday January 28, to learn about the school's educational programs and extracurricular activities, and see the work of our students. Applications for the 2015-16 school year will be available and new families who register during National Catholic Schools Week will be entered into a drawing for one of four $250 scholarships! i C s s t u D e n t r e C e i v e s l e t t e r f r o m t h e P r e s i D e n t o f t h e u n i t e D s t a t e s After reading Flat Stanley, by Jeff Brown, the third grade students at Immaculate Conception School in Annandale handcrafted their own flat selves. As part of a social studies and writing assignment the students composed letters and addressed envelopes to three friends, families and/or businesses located in a rural, suburban and urban community. Recipi- ents were asked to send photos of their travels with the flat ICS third grader and return them to Immaculate Conception School where they are being displayed as a wall mural. Adam Bunger-Spiecha (in Mrs. Meyer's class) chose to send one of his flat selves to The White House. Adam was thrilled w h e n P r e s i d e n t B a r a c k Obama responded with a letter and autographed photo plus photos of the First Family and even photos of Bo and Sunny, their dogs. Please come and visit Immaculate Conception School and see our third grade Flat Stanley Wall Mural! It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective." –Gilbert K. Hypnosis is usually done with the help of a trained counselor. Hypnosis can be used to help you gain control over undesired behaviors or to help you cope better with anxiety or pain. Hypnosis has been used with some success in the treatment of insomnia, stress, bed-wetting, smoking, obesity, eating compulsions, sports and athletic performance and phobias. It's important to know that although you're more open to suggestion during hypnosis, you don't lose control over your behavior. Call for more information, or to talk about whether hypnosis can help you reach your potential, improve your life or ease your pain. Call 908.818.0717 and speak with Rachel.
