Starting May 1, 2014, the Clinton Township
Police Department will be accepting applications
for the Junior Police Academy. All eligible
applicants must be 12 -15 years of age as of June
23, 2014. The 2014 Junior Police Academy will
be taking 20 recruits. All applications received
from qualified individuals will be processed
on a first come first serve basis. This program
is offered free of charge.
Planned activities for the week include
marching, light physical training, exposure to
simulated police work, classroom time, guest
speakers, presentations and field trips. Anyone
having any questions should contact Sergeant
Marc Strauss or Detective Thomas Hash at
908-735-6000. Applications can be picked up
Monday thru Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm at the
Clinton Township Police Department.
The Clinton Township Police Department would
like to alert residents to be aware of an increase
in burglaries in recent months. Townships in the
surrounding area are reporting an increase also.
Residents are asked to be certain to lock their
doors, even when at home. Cars should be locked
in the evening hours. Several scams have been
reported to the Clerk's office as well. Solicita
-
tion door-to-door is prohibited without a permit
issued by the Clerk's Office and requires a police
background check. Any questionable activity,
suspicious vehicle or person should be reported
to the Police immediately and, if safe to do so,
obtain a license plate number.

The Township has hired Joe Rossi as its new
Zoning Officer. Joe will be available on Tuesdays
from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Thursdays, from
12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Joe's Office will be located
in the Planning Department on the first floor,
