Flowers will bloom, birds will sing, butterflies will burst out of their cocoons. Spring is a season of hope, beauty, growth and change. Since 1995, Anderson House has been a house of hope for more than 750 New Jersey women recovering from the ravages of alcoholism and drug addiction. At Anderson House, they receive compassion, care and guidance to heal, build new lives and grow into responsible mothers, daughters and neighbors blooming with possibility and promise. On Friday, April 25, from 7:00 to 11:00 pm, guests will gather at the Beaver Brook Country Club in Annandale to celebrate the courageous women who have transformed their lives and honor four exceptional people whose continued deep commitment to the mission of Anderson House help make these miraculous changes possible. On this special evening, Anderson House will honor Patricia A. McKiernan former Anderson House trustee and retired Executive Vice President of the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation; Donna Passarotti, longtime, ac- tive member of Three Bridges Reformed Church including the SHIP (Samaritan Homeless Interim Program) program, the Hunterdon County Quilting Guild and Brushing Violets; Henry Passarotti, retired Director of Engineering at Janssen Pharmaceuticals in Raritan; and Patricia Steingall, Chief Nursing Office and VP, Patient Care Services at Hunterdon Healthcare System and former Secretary of the Anderson House board of trustees. In those years, I have seen 100 cases of "Disney Feet". Disney Feet is what I call all of the foot conditions people return with from Disney World in Florida, after being there a week or more. When New Jersey residents vacation in Orlando, they are (usually) going to a warmer climate and their bodies need time to adjust. So what ends up hap- pening is that their feet tend to swell up more than usual. Additionally, people are not used to walking or standing in line that many hours in a day. The combination of all that walking and hot weather causes a lot of foot problems. Some foot problems can include arch pain, heel pain and pain in the ball the foot. Many of these are treated with rest and anti-inflammatories. Infected ingrown toenails are very common after a week in Disney. This condi- tion usually requires a visit to the podiatrist. If you are suffering from any kind of foot pain, call my office today at: 908.236.6999–and have relief tomorrow. For more information, please visit our website at: www.DrTzorfas.com. T r i C k y T r ay The Women's Society of the Annandale Reformed Church is holding their Spring Tricky Tray Auction on Friday, April 11, (snow date is April 25). Doors open at 6:00 pm and drawings start at 7:30 pm. Admission is free–food will be avail- able. Prizes cover all four seasons. Come out, enjoy a night of fun and, who knows, you may be a big winner!
