Author Jim Davidson continues our 2nd week of the series on Lindbergh in a discussion of the famous Lindbergh Trial. In the very Court- house where it took place, Jim will share how Flemington was effected by the legal proceed- ings. Flemington was a sleepy country town until Richard Hauptamnn was found to have $14,000 of ransom money in his garage. Extradited to New Jersey and arriving in Flemington in October of 1934, the town was turned upside down. Over 700 reporters and photographers were here, two airports were set up and miles of wires were run. During the 6 weeks of the trial, Flemington was the epicenter of the universe. Crazy things hap- pened in the courtroom and in the town. Using rare pictures from the time, Jim Davidson will present an hour long powerpoint entitled "When the Circus Came to Town".
