They are a community of doers. A "community in motion;" Step by step, minute by minute, day by day, they are constantly moving forward, helping others achieve their goals. It should come as no surprise that they had many volunteers helping out at the 18th Annual NJ River-to-Sea adventure team relay on Aug. 3. This relay comprises teams of runners who start on the banks of the Delaware River in Milford and run to the ocean in Manasquan, some 90+ miles away. Whether managing parking lot traffic or directing runners along the road, BaseCamp 31 was there to help everyone achieve their goal. According to Joe Galioto, BaseCamp 31 board member, (stationed with Basecamp 31 member Kim Haris at the 18th mile mark located at the back of the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead in Lambertville), "As a runner, it's not possible to compete in every event, but volunteering at races like the R2C, cheering a runner, directing traffic... it all helps others in achieving their goals… it's what community partnership is all about." BaseCamp 31 (1250 Route 31 in Lebanon) is a 501(c)3 recognized non-profit organization (formally "IHENJ, Inc."), whose mission is to foster healthy community and personal development through shared experiences of like-minded folks.
