Over the years, it has been systemized and developed for training both mind and body. A mastery of karate does not depend as much on one's physical condition as it does on one's practice and desire. Our style of karate emphasizes speed and movement rather than brute force. Classes are taught by Sensei Steve Will, a fifth degree black belt in Matsubayashi Ryu Karate-Do, who is in his 17th year teaching for Clinton Township. CT REC SOCCER LEAGUE Clinton Township Rec is now accepting registrations for all interested students entering the following divisions: Coed: K through 1st Grade Boys: 2nd through 8th Grade Girls: 2nd through 9th Grade Our Program begins with small-sided games for Grades K and 1. Grades 2 through 9 use a graduated number of players consistent with the US Youth Soccer guidelines. Clinton Township Recreation works in partnership with United Soccer Academy which will provide our volunteer coaches and players with professional instruction from their trained staff. Every team will receive weekly lessons and practice under the supervision of a United Soccer Academy professional staff as well as their team coaches. Volunteer coaches will be provided with instructional manuals, practice drills and visual aids to assist them with their preparation. United Soccer Academy will conduct a two-hour Educational Clinic for all volunteer coaches and assistants on Saturday, September 7. Volunteer coaches must be Rutgers Certified and pass a background check. Clinic for Volunteer Coaches and Managers. Attendees receive Way To Coach, the Coaches' Reference Manual. Upon completion each attendee will receive the S.A.F.E.T.Y Certification Card and permanent registration with NJRPA. Coaches from all youth organizations welcome. Date: Wed., Sept. 11 Time: 6:30 - 9:30 pm Location: TBA Fee: $40 e p t e m b e r 2 0 1 3 INTRO TO FOOTBALL This is a flag football program for children entering Kindergarten through 2nd grade in the fall of 2013, who are not looking to play "full time" yet. Players will learn the basics of the game: how to throw, catch, run and block. Dads and Moms are welcome to help coach or cheer. After the game you can go home and watch your favorite NFL team. Registration is required and closes at 70 participants. Dates: Sundays, September 15 – October 13 Time: 11:00 am - 12:30 pm Location: RVS - Football Field Football Field Fee: $50 residents $55 non-residents 2013/2014 RECREATION BASKETBALL Our Recreation Basketball League will develop basic skills for all players. The league is open to all boys and girls in the 1st through 12th grades. Registration required. 1st & 2nd Grade Season: January – March Grades 3-12 Season: December – March All participants are required to play the same amount. Team practices once a week and one game per week, usually on Saturdays. CLINTON TOWNSHIP'S HAUNTED PLAYGROUND & THE FIELD OF SCREAMS Bring the family to the transformed Field of Dreams for a hauntingly good time! Choose the Friendly Path and have a less scary and fun time with the entire family. Outside the haunted area join Dr. D for music, fun and games, have your face painted by Consie, decorate a pumpkin and don't forget to enter the Costume Parade at 4:00! Prizes will be awarded for the Scariest, Prettiest and Most Creative Costumes!
