I love it when CTNL really works to get people involved in all of our local events, and helps bring the community together. Thank you for sharing that with me! Knowing you, as I have come to over the years of our correspondence, you are as afire as I am over this wonderful year of America 250!! In the cover I see two images that stand out predominately to me, the allusion of fireworks and stars (as Founding Father John Adams put it, our independence should be commemorated "with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.") and the background of the quilt, one of our most precious folk traditions! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA INDEED!!! Great job Julie!!! I've attached [the meeting information for] August. Thank you as always, Julie, for your support of Women's Forum. Happy to say that we've got some solid Clintonians in our membership! I remember the 200th – I was ten years old – and I'd like to stick around for the 300th as well, but in the meantime I'll just be happy that we've made it through 25o years of democracy — what a feat! And yes, quilts seem so American to me, I just knew that a red, white and blue quilt with patriotic symbols was the way to go with the July cover. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
