C O M M a k e u P Q u e s t i o n s F o r M e l i Dear Meli, I am writing to inquire if you have a suggestion of a foundation that I can use that would be easy to apply, maybe one of those color changing foundations perhaps. I see them advertised on Facebook and I don't know which products are rated better than others. Do you have an opinion? I am asking because I consider you an expert. Thanks for your time. - Maureen Dear Maureen, thanks for taking the time to reach out and your kind words! I have heard of color changing foundations but to be totally honest with you, I have never tried one so I cannot give you a true assessment on whether or not they are good along with referring you to a brand that I would suggest. On the other hand, I can share with you a foundation that came out last year that I absolutely love and recommend. It is Natasha Denona's HY GLAM Foundation. For starters, the color spectrum is amazing (52 shades to be exact!) and it is a foundation with skincare benefits that provides hydration, anti-aging properties to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and improve skin texture over time. With so many foundations on the market, it is nice to wear one that not only serves as makeup but also features ingredients to nurture the skin. The coverage is also very natural but buildable as needed. I cannot say enough good things about this product. I am happy to have discovered this not only for myself but also to share with all my clients. – Thanks, Meli To schedule a makeup consultation or book a makeup artist for your next big event, contact Meli at: 908.240.7920. You aren't alone. Whether you are 18 or 88, pain and physical imbalances can make the gym feel like a hurdle rather than a highlight. These imbalances often stem from past injuries, a sedentary lifestyle, or "compensation patterns" — the way our bodies learn to move incorrectly to avoid discomfort. Corrective exercise is a simple, proven method to find these issues and fix them through a clear, four-step process: 1. Releasing Overactive Muscles Tight or "stuck" muscles are a main cause of discomfort. We use "self-myofascial release" — a fancy term for using foam rollers or massage balls to target tight spots. This helps "calm" the nerves and allows the muscle to relax. 2. Muscle Lengthening: Once a muscle is relaxed, we need to improve its range of motion. Through static stretching (holding a stretch for 30+ seconds), we ensure muscles can stretch as they're intended. This increases circulation and makes your workouts much more efficient. 3. Activating Weakened Muscles: This is often the most challenging part. We use isolated strengthening exercises to "wake up" muscles that have been underactive or "napping." By focusing on these specific areas, we ensure your body has the support it needs to move safely. 4. Dynamic Integration: Finally, we bring it all together. We teach your muscles to work as a team during functional movements, like squats or lunges. This transforms your body from a collection of compensations into a coordinated, pain-free system. Move with Confidence: By integrating these movements into your routine, you can stop worrying about "getting through" a workout and start focusing on your goals. Whether you want to set a personal record or simply enjoy a pain-free walk, corrective exercise helps you move the way you were designed to.
