All meetings are at the Flemington Free Public Library, located at 118 Main Street, Flemington in the second floor Community Room. We have been supporting and participating in Hunterdon County community events for over thirty years. The guild visits Alpaca farms, fiber festivals, the NJ Wool Walk, etc. Our meetings include programs to teach our members new skills and techniques taught by outside guests or experienced members. Friends of the Hunterdon County Library 28th Annual Book Sale is April 25 – 27! The annual used book sale of the Friends of Hunterdon County Library (FOHCL) is coming soon on Saturday, April 25 through Monday, April 27! 2026 marks the 28th annual Book Sale as the major fundraiser for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the Hunterdon County Library System. Volunteers have already been busy planning logistics and collecting books donated at the library branches. We expect to have an outstanding inventory and examples of stellar books already donated for the sale include "The Secrets of Secrets" by Dan Brown, "Billion Dollar Ransom" by James Patterson, "The Frozen River" by Ariel Lawhon, "The Stolen Queen" by Fiona Davis, "Nobody's Girl" by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, "On Tyranny" by Timothy Sydner and "Be Ready When Luck Happens" by Ina Garten. Also, we have a variety of books by Freda McFadden and Colleen Hoover. Book, puzzle, and creative book end donations are needed to supply the sale. Encyclopedia, textbooks and Reader Digest, Time Life are NOT accepted along with moldy, musty books, as these items add to our disposal costs. DONATIONS at North County Branch Library on Halstead Street in Clinton can be made: Tuesday April 7 and Wednesday April 8: 9:30 am until 4:30pm and Thursday, April 9, from 9:30 am until 3:30 pm. Donations @ Hunterdon County Fairgrounds in Ringoes can be made: Saturdays, April 11 and April 18, between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Want to get involved? FOHCL needs you! There are numerous volunteer opportunities. Accepting donations and sorting books, puzzles, and media at the main site in Ringoes for sorting donations to organizing books at the genre tables in the weeks preceding the sale. During the sale, volunteers are needed for restocking tables, cashiers, and greeters along with directing parking during the sale. Volunteers may select a schedule that works best for them – sign up for a few hours, a few days, or every day, at the main site in Ringoes from Wednesday, April 8 through Wednesday, April 29. Students 13+ years old and older may volunteer and service credit will be given.
