The Friends of Hunterdon County Library (FOHCL) are holding their annual used Book Sale on Saturday, April 25 through Monday, April 27. 2026 marks the 28th annual Book Sale organized by FOHCL volunteers who sponsor this major fundraiser for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the Hunterdon County Library System. What does FOHCL do? Financial support is given for programs such as Maker's Day for youths, lecture series, concerts, book kits for lending to community book clubs, general programs and activities, Museum Pass Program as well as student college scholarships and supporting the upgrade of library facilities. A new program seeded in 2025 as a result of the book sale is the "Library of Things" for lending to patrons. Book donations are needed to supply the sale. DONATIONS at North County Branch Library on Halstead Street in Clinton can be made: Tuesday April 7 and Wednesday April 8: 9:30 am until 4:30pm and Thursday, April 9:30 am until 3:30 pm. Donations at Hunterdon County Fairgrounds in Ringoes can be made: Saturdays, April 11 and April 18, between 9am – 2 pm. Additionally, books may be dropped off earlier at either the Flemington Headquarters on Rt 12 or North County Branch in Clinton. Donation guidelines can be found on the Hunterdon County Library website: www. HCLibray.us. Donations are limited during these times. Want to get involved? FOHCL needs you! There are numerous volunteer opportunities at both sites. Accepting donations and sorting books, puzzles, and media at NCB and at the main site in Ringoes from set -up, and sorting donations to organizing books at the genre tables in the weeks preceding the sale. During the sale, volunteers are needed for restocking tables, cashiers and greeters along with directing parking during the sale. Volunteers may select a schedule that works best for them; sign up for a few hours, a few days, or every day! Help is needed at NCB from Tuesday, April 7 through Thursday, April 9 and at the main site in Ringoes from Wednesday, April 8 through Wednesday, April 29. Students 13+ years old and older may volunteer and service credit will be given.
