We help students grow as confident, capable learners. Throughout the district, in our Sustainable Jersey clubs, students participate in waste audits and monitor air quality. Our most recent event was a district-wide healthy eating challenge. At Round Valley School, the Golden Eagle Players Acting Club nurtures creativity and collaboration, while our third-grade chorus introduces students to the discipline and joy of performance. We also have band and orchestra in grades 4-8. Our middle school students may explore electives such as Speech and Debate, Digital Art, Health and Wellness, alongside technology, PE, music, and other electives. Some of our extracurricular offerings include a Robotics club, Law Adventure, and TREP$, our entrepreneurial fair that invites the whole community to purchase products and services from our students at an evening marketplace. These extracurricular activities pair with more traditional offerings such as student government, sports, theater, and music that promote problem-solving and collaboration. Our students' experiences are further enriched through the support of the Clinton Township Parent-Teacher Association and the Clinton Township Education Foundation, whose assemblies, grants, and community events strengthen our schools. They are always open to volunteers and support. Providing this level of opportunity in a public school while maintaining high academic expectations requires the support of the community beyond those with children in our schools. A strong public school makes an area desirable, and influences resale value and the overall community experience. We hope that with the community's continued partnership, thoughtful long-term planning, and stable funding that takes into account the rising costs, CTSD will remain a district that prepares students to contribute meaningfully in their journey to become the future. – Sincerely, Dr. Melissa Stager, Ed.D Superintendent, CTSD A MESSAGE FROM DR. STAGER, CTSD SUPERINTENDENT I N O U R S C H O O L S : Spruce Run Preschool Clothing Investigation! A t S p r u c e R u n , o u r learners finished a unit o n C l o t h i n g . S t u d e n t s sorted clothes, loaded "washers," folded fresh laundry, and discovered how clothing is cared for. Students are now moving into a new unit exploring buildings. The Building study in Creative Curriculum explores construction, architecture, and how structures are created, encouraging children to investigate different types of buildings in their community. During the first week in March, Spruce Run will celebrate Read Across America with activities like guest readers, book exchanges, themed dress-up days, and special story times that help build excitement about books and develop early literacy skills. We are excited to participate in this nationwide reading celebration. Patrick McGaheran School In March, we have a special focus on the celebration of reading at PMG! Throughout the month, we're welcoming guest readers into our classrooms to share their favorite books and show children how reading is part of everything we do and Read Across America week brings special PTA-sponsored reading celebrations for our students. Our students are diving into projects that bring reading, science, and social studies together in ways that make sense to them. Kindergarteners have been learning about traditional stories like "The Little Red Hen," first graders have been exploring maps, and second graders have been deep into habitat studies. When children see how everything connects, they become more engaged and curious learners. Our goal is to provide our students with learning experiences that are meaningful and memorable. March is a great reminder that reading isn't just a subject at PMG; it's how we learn about and make connections in our world. Round Valley School R o u n d V a l l e y S c h o o l students are building on their impressive Readbowl momentum this month, where they collectively l o g g e d t h o u s a n d s o f reading minutes. March reading celebrations will continue to spotlight our young readers' dedication and growth. In February, our all-school meetings featured performances from students who showcased their winter repertoire from the chorus concerts and 5th grade band and orchestra, allowing the entire school community to celebrate our young musicians' talents. We are excited about STEAM Night in March, brought to us by the PTA. This event features community scientists and a student science fair. Additionally, students will enjoy a Super Science Show assembly with Ridiculous Nicholas, bringing high-energy demonstrations that make learning memorable. These activities reflect our commitment to fostering curiosity, building strong foundational skills, and creating joyful learning experiences for all RVS students. Clinton Township Middle School On Friday, January 9, we hosted the Scripps National Spelling Bee School Competition at CTMS. Congratulations to 7th grader Rishaan Krishna, who was declared our school champion with the winning word "APOCALYPSE"! Good luck to Rishaan at the regional level!
