C O M M A k e u p Q u e s t I o n s f o r M e l I Dear Meli, Do you have any suggestions for preventing mascara and eyeliner from running underneath my eyes? I like to wear both but find that it doesn't stay in place as long as I would like it to. - Pamela Dear Pamela, For starters, I would look for waterproof eye products which will be most longwearing throughout the day. I would also highly suggest skipping both mascara and eyeliner on the bottom as that is where the eye makeup tends to smudge the most. If you still want to wear eyeliner on the bottom, I would apply a waterproof eyeliner pencil very softly along the lash line (I prefer a brown pencil over black for a more natural look) and for bottom mascara, Clinique's Bottom Lash Mascara features a tiny wand which makes it much easier to apply mascara on the bottom lashes for a smoother application without any clumps or excess product. The less makeup that you apply there, the less you will have to worry about anything smudging underneath the eyes, which is why it's good to avoid applying makeup there in its entirety, or to just apply with a soft approach and use the products more sparingly, as a little will go a long way.
