3 j a n u a r y 2 0 2 6 Happy New Year! 5 I hope that this letter finds you relaxed and rejuvenated from a wonderful holiday season. The Township continues to tackle its statutory affordable housing obligation for the period of 2025-2035. The Township adopted its Housing Element and Fair Share Plan in June and is currently in court with three challengers (Fair Share Housing Center, ExxonMobil and CNC/Beaver Brook Country Club). Please see the Township's website for the latest information on affordable housing, which will be updated as the process progresses (https://www. clintontwpnj.gov/pages/affordable-housing). In 2025, the Township completed the repaving of Regional Road, Glen Eagles Drive, Heather Hill Way and Muirfield Lane, along with pavement preservation projects throughout the Township. For 2026, the Township will be repaving Bennington Road and some of the surrounding streets with the assistance of a State DOT grant. We have also partnered with Good Roads to perform an analysis of all our roadways with objective data that will enable us to better prioritize future roadwork. Our Engineer and Public Works department expect to have the results of this analysis early in the New Year. This August was active, with the Annandale Hose Company putting into service a new Engine that the Township purchased over two years ago, while the Recreation Department hosted its first, and very successful, Outdoor Movie in the Park. Meanwhile, we have taken concrete steps toward the installation of a new, inclusive playground, with more details on timing to come. I am also happy to report that, at long last, the site of the old municipal building (the Fox Seals General Store) in Annandale Village has been transferred to the designated redeveloper. We are eager to see work begin on the revitalization of this historic structure. If you have not already done so, please visit the Township's website and register for our CodeRED alert system, which provides both emergency and non-emergency (e.g. road closures, leaf pickup, recreation events, etc.) alerts. This year also sees the departure of longtime Councilwoman Amy Switlyk, a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County who is completing her fourth term on the Council. Beginning with her first term in 2014 as liaison to the Boards of Education to serving as a member of the Township's Open Space committee over the last six years, Amy has brought a passion to serving our community. She has quite literally left her mark on our Township, spearheading numerous trails on our open space properties, like Cramer's Creek, which includes a cross-country running path and fitness stations, and most notably an extensive expansion of trails on Windy Acres, which she and her husband, James, spent countless hours laying out and clearing. She has also been instrumental in the activities of the Township's Environmental Commission and Green Team, engaged in projects planting hundreds of trees, clean-up events of our roads and the Annandale Train Station, and creating an educational center for students at Windy Acres. We thank Amy for all that she has contributed to the Township over the years. As always, no reflection of the past year and anticipation of the good things to come in the next year would be complete without expressing our appreciation for the Township's staff and our many volunteers whose efforts make our progress possible. I wish you all a wonderful holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year. -Brian Mullay Mayor, Clinton Township from CarolBeder ' s EQUAL HOUSING LENDER | MEMBER FDIC unitybank.com/cdspecials Grow your avings with us!
