Patrick McGaheran School New Jersey Department of Education's Week of Respect took place in October. The Week of Respect was established under the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (P.L. 2010, c.122) and requires all New Jersey schools to observe this week with age-appropriate activities that foster positive school climate and emphasize the importance of treating one another with dignity and respect. This annual observance provided our school community with an important opportunity to promote kindness, acceptance, and respect while reinforcing our commitment to preventing harassment, intimidation, and bullying. In October we celebrated reading at PMG with the PTA Book Fair. Thank you to our PTA for organizing this fun event, and for partnering with our school to celebrate reading with special guest readers from our PMG Faculty. Staff members shared their own favorite children's books, and also led an informative session for families to promote reading strategies at home. Thank you to our CTEF for organizing a fun Walk-a-Thon to support our "Week of Respect" and to encourage physical activity and to raise funds to support our school p l a y g r o u n d . C l a s s e s w a l k e d around our PMG fields while being c h e e r e d o n b y Buddy the Bulldog, our school mascot. Thank you CTEF! Round Valley School Round Valley School had a great first week in October, participating in New Jersey's Week of Respect! We kicked things off with the Clinton Township Foundation's Walk-a-Thon, which was all about respect and bringing everyone together. During the Week of Respect, the whole school gathered for a meeting focused on the meaning of "respect", and we handed out our Eagle All- Star awards for September. We also had a fun spirit week, and students made a handprint project that's now hanging on our wall. The Week of Respect was a great opportunity to highlight our three school rules—take care of yourself, take care of others, and take care of the school environment—and remind everyone that respect isn't just for October. It's something we practice and expect every single day throughout the year. These activities reinforced the values that make Round Valley School a welcoming place. Clinton Township Middle School This year we have 32 CTMS students participating in the Law program! Sponsored by the New Jersey Bar Foundation, this is an annual mock trial competition. Students learn about courtroom law and create an original law case for the contest. Winners are invited to turn their case into a courtroom drama, and travel to New Brunswick to perform in front of a judge and jury. Art students at CTMS expressed themselves creatively when doing amazing fall art. The students have decorated the school for fall, and are even creating a beautiful mural design. R•E•S•P•E•C•T
