We don't want their Newsletter, we want ours! – Debbie B. Dear Debbie, Thank you for reaching out – I hope all is well in Michigan! You must have signed up for our monthly Newsletter email blast online (at: www.ClintonTwpNewsletter.com).The reason that our Newsletter is all about New Jersey and Pennsylvania is because... we are in Clinton Township, New Jersey! (close to PA.) In order to get your own newsletter in Michigan, you should contact your mayor and town council and tell them that they should start one, if they haven't already. Hope this helps! Thanks, Julie Flynn Editor, Clinton Township Newsletter, Clinton Township, New Jersey Hold on while I pack my bags to move to Michigan, I'll get right on starting that newsletter for them! It's funny, but I'm glad that people in Michigan are paying attention. Or not, as the case may be. Of course, I always love hearing from all of you, our local CTNL read- ers! When I see you out-and-about in person, this publication brings up some really interesting conversations, and I never know what to expect. Last month's cover really grabbed people, and many told me about their summer reading, and their creative endeavors. What the world needs now is more books, peace and creativity, if you ask me. For the past 24 years, I have physically felt the arrival of the month of September, with its tragic anniversary, before I can even logically make sense of the emotion. I'll feel an air of malaise and wonder, why so blue on a lovely day? And then I think back to what began as a gorgeous day on 9/11/2001, and then turned catastrophic as every minute of that morning unfolded, each one more frightening than the previous. I know so many people locally who lost loved ones that day, people who narrowly escaped losing their lives there before the towers fell, and so many more who witnessed the whole thing, helplessly. The week after it happened, to me it seemed the world had flipped on its axis and would never right itself again. Since then we've all gone on to living normal lives, but we will never forget. I wish you all peace during this time. –Julie Flynn CarolBeder ' s ________DAYS to KEEP IN MIND_________ Mon Sept 1 Labor Day Tue Sept 2 V-J Day Thur Sept 4 National Wildlife Day Sun Sept 8 National Suicide Prevention Week Thur Sept 11 Patriot Day Sun Sept 14 National Sober Day Sun Sept 14 Grandparents' Day Mon Sept 15 International Day of Democracy Fri Sept 19 Talk Like a Pirate Day (Aaarrrgh) Mon Sept 15 National Hispanic Heritage Month Wed Sept 17 Constitution Day Fri Sept 19 National POW/MIA Recognition Day Sun Sept 21 International Day of Peace ☮ Mon Sept 22 Autumnal Equinox (Start of Fall) Mon Sept 22 National Family Day Wed Sept 24 Rosh Hashanah Thur Sept 25 National Daughters Day Sun Sept 28 National Sons Day Sun Sept 28 Gold Star Mother's Day Mon Sept 29 Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Day
