Impact100 Hunterdon members and guests hear from Impact100 Global Founder, Wendy Steele, at an event in May. Impact100 Hunterdon is preparing to release its second annual funding opportunity with a $100,000 grant to be awarded to a nonprofit seeking to fund a program or project that provides significant impact to the Hunterdon community. The funding may be used over a three-year period and may not be used for general operating expenses. The process will kick off with an optional virtual information session on Tuesday July 15 at 2:00 pm. Anyone interested in joining that session is asked to register with Lawrence Brooks at lbrooks@binnaclehouse.org. That session will be recorded and attendance is not mandatory to apply. The application process will begin with a Letter of Intent (LOI) to be released in September and due in mid-October. The Impact100 Hunterdon Grants Committee will notify all applicants as to whether a full application is requested. That application will be due in December and the 2025 grant awarded in March of 2026. Impact100 Hunterdon is one of 76 chapters of the Global Impact100 initiative and joins other existing chapters throughout New Jersey and the tri-state area. Impact100 was founded by Wendy Steele in 2001 in response to feeling as though women's roles in philanthropy needed a new way to be expanded and encouraged. Wendy launched the organization with the goal of empowering women to see themselves as activists through utilizing large grants to transform their communities. The Impact100 model is simple: at least 100 women come together to donate at least $1,000 each so that a $100,000 transformational grant can be made to a local charity. This grant is available to eligible Hunterdon nonprofits across five broad focus areas: Arts & Culture; Family; Education; Health & Wellness; and Environment, Preservation, and Recreation. Impact100 is dedicated to offering women a framework to help take their philanthropic work to the next level, making a transformational difference in their communities. Impact100 is a place for women who care deeply, who dream wildly, and who believe that, together, they are an unstoppable force for good. The 2025 Impact100 Hunterdon $100,000 grant will be awarded at the organization's annual membership meeting in March of 2026. Finalists will be announced in February 2026 and Impact100 Hunterdon members will vote on their choice for the most impactful program or project. Those individual votes will be audited and tallied by an outside party and the winner announced that evening. Grant Committee Chair, Colleen Duerr says, "We are in awe of the work being done by nonprofits in Hunterdon and we love the opportunity to provide support for that important work. The collective giving model is so powerful. More than just a funding opportunity, we see this as a unique outreach opportunity and a way for our members to learn more about the Hunterdon nonprofit community and ways to get involved. We welcome women connected to Hunterdon to join our force for good!" Founded in 2023 in partnership with Binnacle House Community Foundation, Impact100 Hunterdon believes that women have the power to transform the Hunterdon community through collective giving. The chapter's inaugural grant in 2024 was awarded to Freedom House for their most recent sober living facility project. More than just a fundraising effort, Impact100 Hunterdon provides events, networking, and educational opportunities to gather women together and become a collective force for good. The group aims to spread awareness about the needs in Hunterdon County, the work that Hunterdon nonprofits are doing, and how everyone can make a difference.
