We offer our consumers the tools and resources to lead more independent lives. We help with housing, SNAP applications, hold monthly recreational events, and more. We partner with you to maintain or obtain support to live independently. From one of our consumers: "Over the past two to three years, the PCIL has had a truly positive impact on my life. Through their support, I've learned how to advocate for myself and also how to reach out when I need others to advocate on my behalf. The staff have helped me grow more confident and empowered in navigating challenges." – Cortez R. Cortez was looking for assistance to get his driver's license so he could enhance his independence. He wasn't sure where to begin and how to prepare. He joined our drivability program and passed the class and also was able to pass his exam and get a permit! Clinton Area Stage Troupe will present the musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, on July 18, 24, 25, and 26, in the North Hunterdon High School theater. An early collaboration of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, Joseph was written in 1968 as a cantata for a school concert in the UK. Over the years, the composers added to the musical until it became a full-length, professional production. The show premiered at the Edinburgh Festival in 1972, and came to Broadway ten years later, earning six Tony nominations. The title role has been played by Gary Bond, Donny Osmond, and Patrick Cassidy. In a recent revival, Donny Osmond returned to play the Pharaoh. Joseph is a light-hearted and joyous rendition of the Biblical story of Jacob and his twelve sons. When Jacob (portrayed by Steve Hill of Milford) gifts Joseph (Ryan Apgar of Clinton and Tom Farber of High Bridge) with a coat of many colors, the brothers become jealous of the favored son, a starry-eyed dreamer. They sell Joseph off to Egypt where he becomes the servant of a high- ranking Egyptian official, Potiphar (Ed Winnick of Flemington). Years later, Joseph serves as the overseer for Pharaoh (Bill LePore of Phillipsburg). While fortune smiles on Joseph, the brothers find themselves in poverty. Repentance and forgiveness become part of the family's story. The story is told through a narrator (Katie Meo Cudworth and Peggy Ippolito, both of Flemington), with the help of a Children's Chorus and a large Adult Ensemble. Supporting roles include the eleven brothers (Steve Slutter, Dale Dabour, James Craig, Michael Kotran, Joe McDevitt, Ian Peverley, Christian Shebchuk, Faith Brown, Hope Kiehl, Megan Povlich, and Julian Mortensen) and the brothers' wives (Gabrielle Aubrey, Laura Mortensen, Regina Cartwright, Riley Conaty, Rain Fenlon, Peggy Ippolito, Sarah Shea Mabes, Dawn Schmauch, Judy Segers, Meg Slutter, and Kathy Snow). Music in the show is an eclectic mix of showtune classics like "Any Dream Will Do" and "Close Every Door", country-Western ("One More Angel in Heaven"), French ballad ("Those Canaan Days"), Calypso ("Benjamin Calypso"), and 50s rock-and-roll ("Song of the King"). The show is directed by Mary Ennis Meo of Clinton. The creative team includes production assistant and costumer Linda Lauchaire of Bethlehem, PA, production assistant and stage manager Diane Lehnert of Clinton Township, musical director Vincent Angeline of Union Township, vocal director Kathy Snow of Bethlehem, PA, props managers Ronna Hill of Milford and Robin Adams of Clinton Township. Sarah Shea Mabes of Frenchtown and Hope Kiehl of Bloomsbury are the choreographers. Tickets, at $18 for adults and $15 for seniors 65+ and children under 11, may be purchased through the CAST website: www. ClintonAreaStageTroupe.com/tickets. All shows are at 7:00 pm except for the matinee on Saturday, July 26, which is at 2:00 pm.
