Hunterdon Medical Center Receives
Second Five-Star Quality Rating
For the second consecutive
time, Hunterdon Medical
Center has received a
prestigious five-star quality
rating from the Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS). It was one
of only four hospitals in New
Jersey to receive a five-star
recognition for high-quality
performance.
"The five-star rating from CMS
affirms that we are achieving
our goal of excellence in
patient care and outcomes,"
says Patrick Gavin, Hunterdon
Health System's president
and CEO. "Receiving this
recognition year over year
validates our continued
commitment to patient safety
and is a testament to our
dedicated physicians, nurses
and staff working throughout
Hunterdon Health."
CMS, the federal agency that
administers Medicare, rates
hospitals nationwide on how
well they perform across
several areas of healthcare
quality and safety, including
mortality (death rate), safety,
readmission rates, patient
experience, and timely and
effective care. The rating is
on a scale of one to five stars,
with one star indicating poor
performance and five stars
indicating excellence.
